![]() The 32-bit version has a limit of 2GB of virtual memory, while the 64-bit version offers up to 8TB of virtual memory. PC World / JD SartainĮxcel has its own memory manager and memory limits. Remember, just because your computer has 8GB of RAM, that doesn’t mean you have that much available to work with. When Manual Calculation is selected in the Calculation Options, Excel withholds calculating your formulas until you press F9.Īlthough memory does not affect Excel’s calculation or manipulation speed, the size of your database (number of columns and rows used) is affected by the amount of available RAM in your system. Turn on Manual Calculation and use F9Īnother solution is to turn off the Automatic Workbook Calculation option, instead using the Function key F9. You could also create Relational Database spreadsheets that connect your tables with unique, key fields. ![]() You can accomplish this by creating multiple spreadsheets in a single workbook, with links or three-dimensional formulas. One solution, and one that I highly recommend, is to keep your spreadsheets small and tight, with fewer fields and, if necessary, fewer records. Using a lot of graphical elements can also hinder performance. This can cause a lag time of several seconds or more between each process. Every time you add new records, then press the Enter key-or use features such as Sort, Format cells, or Insert/Delete Columns or Rows-Excel recalculates all those formulas. For the entire time I've been editing this message, Box and Office have been cycling endlessly in another tab.The number of records (rows), fields (columns), and formulas can slow down performance considerably. But Chrome is a very unsatisfactory solution for Mac users. So this appears to be a problem with Box's integration on Safari. I just tried to open the document with Google Chrome and it worked fine. ![]() the integration with Office Online is the primary reason we use Box, and I can't use it. it just cycles between these two URLs, but never opens the documents. It's driving me nuts. ![]() Whenever I try to open a Word document I just get into an endless loop between and. Maybe I could use Box Drive except, apparently, it doesn't work on M1 Macs. So I have to use Box Sync for everything, which is really slow. And the desktop integration between Office and Box is incredibly slow - to the point of being unusable. I've cleared the caches, deleted the cookies, and disabled the extensions none of it works, and it is really stressing me out. ![]() This integration worked really well when I first started using Box, but I haven't got it to work for a couple of months. It's *obviously* a bug, probably a bug with Box, and you guys need to take it seriously please. Safari console shows a million errors when loading the MS Office pages including blocked cross-frame communication (which is no longer permitted in Safari), which is probably the underlying problem here. It's like turning the computer off and on again. I tried the above cache clearing stuff for Safari but it didn't work. I have the exact problem as Onur, but with Word. ![]()
